World Suicide Prevention Day 2025: Pearl initiative CIC Leading Awareness & Changing the Narrative

At PEARL Initiative CIC, we believe that every life matters and that no one should face mental health challenges alone.

In-Depth Insight with Partners

This year’s awareness initiative was conceived and driven by PEARL Initiative CIC as part of our mission to improve mental health and emotional resilience within communities. To make this possible, we partnered with Freedom4Girls UK, who helped secure the open space at the Haymarket.

PEARL Initiative CIC developed the awareness messages on mental health and suicide prevention while Freedom4Girls UK created powerful captions on PMDD(Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).

Together we co-designed the stand to speak to diverse mental health challenges faced in our community.

With further support from Wesley Hall Community Centre (who kindly produced the print materials due to lack of funding) and the involvement of NHS Leicester. Leicestershire & Rutland talking Therapies, the initiative became a truly collaborative force for change.

Impact at a Glance (PEARL Initiative CIC)

  1. 59+ people reached through direct engagement.
  2. 1 documented human-angle story on lived mental health experience captured by PEARL, showing the real impact of conversations.
  3. shared critical such as:
    • Hope is real, Help is here
    • It’s okay to not be okay – talking can save lives
    • 3 in 4 suicides are men – but talking changes that.

This was not just about leaflets and posters, it was about creating space for real conversations, breaking stigma and encouraging people to seek help and support.

We are proud that this initiative was developed and delivered by PEARL Initiative CIC, strengthened by Freedom4Girls UK, Wesley Hall, NHS Leicester and others who stood with us in solidarity.
